The park's Lake Huron shoreline and proximity to the Cheboygan River make it a good base for fishing and boating, and the nearby Cheboygan Crib Light and Cheboygan Point Light add a bit of maritime history to a day trip. The town of Cheboygan itself is a short drive away for supplies, restaurants, and access to the broader Inland Waterway system.
Best Time to Visit
Summer is peak season given the park's proximity to the Straits of Mackinac tourist corridor, while fall offers quieter camping with fewer crowds heading to Mackinac Island. The campground typically operates April through November.
Reservation Tips
